Maria: Our Lady of St Eusebius

In the Cathedral of Cagliari (Italy) is the Chapel of Our Lady of St. Eusebius.

The statue is a true copy of the original that St Eusebius of Vercelli brought from Palestine in 362, on his return from exile. It is made of cedar of Lebanon, it has a lovely countenance and is 1.55 meters tall.

The statue was placed in the crypt of St. Restituta, later in the Cathedral and in 1885 Mons. Barchialla placed it in this chapel. This altar rich in valuable marble was built in 1776 by Dean Giovanni Maria Solinas, and the statue and took the place of a large picture of Our Lady of the Rosary.
